Vintage in Giesing: Miramu
All vintage fans should have Giesing firmly on their shopping map. Because at Miramu, Latisha Förster provides you with a fine selection of vintage clothing from the 80s and 90s as well as second-hand clothes.
Latisha has always dreamed of having her own second-hand store. What began as a pop-up store for second-hand fashion is now a permanent institution in Giesing: Miramu in Gietlstraße. Here you will find mainly vintage clothing from the 80s and 90s, second-hand clothes, shoes, bags, jewelry and accessories.
Latisha receives the clothes from women from all over Munich who bring their treasures on consignment. Brands play no role in the selection of what ultimately finds a place in the store. For Latisha, it is much more important that the clothes are unusual, have something special about them and, above all, are still in good condition.
"What I love so much about my job is that it fits in so well with my own values: Away from the throwaway society. Everything we need to live is actually already available and almost nothing has to be bought new."
Latisha's own favorite finds include a Chanel bag and actually her entire closet. She expands her wardrobe in Munich at M+M Secondhand (Corneliusstrasse 38), Blaugold in Haidhausen and Alva Morgaine Vintagestore in Glockenbach.
You actually have to experience second hand - so go into a store, rummage around and think about how you could combine things. As this is unfortunately not possible at the moment, Miramu offers Click or Call & Collect. Latisha regularly puts together outfits that she posts on Instagram and Facebook. Customers can then reserve their favorites, pick them up directly from the store or have them sent to them.
If you are looking for a gift idea: Miramu also offers vouchers. These not only support the store itself, but also give the gift of sustainability and the prospect of relaxed browsing. Hopefully it will be possible again at some point.
