First of all: a big recommendation from us - the shows at the GOP Varieté Theater in Bonn are always spectacular, entertaining and of the highest standard. You get a whole evening of pure entertainment. There's nothing quite like it in Cologne and getting to Bonn is also super easy. Simply get off the regional train at the Bonn UN Campus stop and walk just a few meters to the theater. There is also a parking garage directly opposite the building if you come by car. But we recommend you come by train - the environment will thank you and you can also enjoy a glass of sparkling wine (if you like).

We've actually been fans from the very beginning and are always fascinated by how much the shows surprise and captivate us. When we read about "WET", we were immediately hooked and can now tell you first-hand about the premiere on September 8, 2023. And as befits a premiere, we got dressed up in our best outfits and took to the red carpet at the GOP.

WET - the show - Bathtubs become a show stage

You can watch"WET - the show" at the GOP until November 5. Here, what previously seemed incompatible is united and standard bathtubs become a show stage - sparkling, refreshingly different and spectacular. It will be"WET" in the truest sense of the word, because where there are bathtubs, there is bound to be water. Look forward to a grandiose combination of world-class artistry, comedy and live singing, which makes the show an extraordinary experience that has already caused a sensation around the globe. More than 1.5 million viewers worldwide have seen "WET". And rightly so! You simply can't stop being amazed - a soundtrack with a catchy tune guarantee, matching lighting design and a genuine opera diva. One highlight follows the next.

Of course, we don't want to withhold our two personal highlights from you either. The show absolutely blew us away, but we will probably always remember the handstand acrobatics of Mukhamadi Sharifzoda from Tatjikistan. This art of standing on his hands is called equilibristics - he skillfully balanced his entire body on his hands and the bathtub, performing the most incredible feats. The two brothers Dario and Michael Togni from Italy performed the Icarian Games. This is an artistic form of play in which there is a strong "bottom man" who "juggles" his partner on his feet and sends him whirling through the air. Sounds awesome, doesn't it? As you can see, the ensemble consists of top international artists who make the show the spectacular experience that it is.

Variety & dinner in one show

As if all this wasn't great enough, there is of course the delicious food on top, which you can book as an option. You can choose between a 2- or 3-course menu (vegetarian or with meat). The starter and main course are served before the show, while dessert is served during the interval. For the premiere, everyone had the vegetarian menu (unless you ordered the meat option in advance) - we think that's really great!

The menu sequence reads like a poem and rounds off your stay and is the icing on the cake of the whole evening: the starter was a white bean soup with spicy foccaccia and lemon curry oil, followed by a main course of braised carrot & pumpkin Marrakech with eggplant puree, couscous, pistachio crunch and roasted onions and finally a chocolate almond cream with honey salted caramel and lime. Our highlight was the starter - the bean soup was really powerful and tasted really delicious. The staff at the GOP were all very courteous and catered perfectly for the packed room - we felt very comfortable in the relaxed yet very special atmosphere.

Our verdict on "WET - the show"

You should definitely see"WET" if you are in the mood for extraordinary artistry (when do you ever see bathtubs on stage?), are a fan of variety & comedy and want to spend a very special evening. We also highly recommend the GOP if you want to give the gift of time together. Whether with friends, parents, partners or work colleagues. As a group, you can even sit opposite each other at the large tables.
