In the organizer's words:
Podcat + Poodle Festival Pre-Show
In 2026, Germany's most popular interview podcast celebrates its tenth anniversary. The first episode of Hotel Matze was released in fall 2016. After a decade, Matze Hielscher can look back on an impressive array of guests - from journalism, science, politics, philosophy, sport, art and music, he has already conducted well over 500 interviews. Hotel Matze always offers a wealth of well-known personalities such as Nina Chuba, Jürgen Klopp and Angela Merkel. It is a podcast that lives not only from the people in front of the microphones, but also from those who listen.
This year and next, Matze will be surprising his listeners with eight dates in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and celebrating his tenth birthday with them. The personalities that the audience can look forward to at the upcoming live shows remain a surprise at times; in Dresden, he will have bestselling author Juli Zeh as a guest.
The idea is to experience what usually happens in the studio together in one room: Conversations that have time. Encounters that develop. And a moment in which listening becomes something shared. Matze Hielscher creates a warm atmosphere at eye level and the audience experiences it up close.
