seen from the earth, clouds appear as unreachable, fleeting and dreamlike landscapes floating in an endless sea of blue. clouds can obscure the world and also form visual barriers that stand in the way of seeing the universe above us. but with man's imitation of birds, clouds were no longer just the object of dreams. clouds not only shrouded the sunshine, but also protected us from the death that rained down from above. in this lecture performance, சிந்துஜன் வரதராஜா (sinthujan varatharajah) examines how the violence that arose on the land was projected into the sky and how this changed the human-animal view of the sky and the concepts associated with it.
