1000 meters is the length of a film strip in 16 mm format, which is about 90 minutes long. The little brother of 35 mm cinema film was introduced in 1923 and was mainly used for amateur, documentary, educational and advertising films. In the middle of the 20th century, it was the standard for current affairs reporting in the increasingly widespread television.
"1000 Meter Film" is the title of the new series in which the Soyuz 7 cinema group wants to show 16-mm films on three to four Sunday afternoons a year: a real cinema feel with a rattling projector, mono sound in medium wave quality and scratches and jumps in the film - and there is a pause when the reels change.
The series is made possible by the collection of a member of the volunteer cinema group, which also provides a projector. We would like to invite all people in
Monheim am Rhein and from the region to contribute films: So anyone who has old material in their cupboard or attic can contact Sojus 7. Whether private treasures, documentaries or advertising films, we are interested in everything.
interested in everything.
The film afternoons are organized in cooperation with the Rheincafé.
Free admission, coffee and cake are provided and good conversation is guaranteed.
