The new live program from 11FREUNDE is here: Philipp Köster and Stephan Reich present “The Other History of Soccer”—a wild ride from the rowdy kids in long pants to today’s high-gloss spectacle, featuring daring slides, bizarre goals, botched interviews, and unrestrained commentators. The two 11FREUNDE veterans, Philipp Köster and Stephan Reich, guide the audience through the show with texts, films, and anecdotes.

Philipp Köster is the editor-in-chief of the soccer magazine 11FREUNDE. He has been touring with live shows since 2005. He collects jerseys and stadium programs, knows the 1984 Romanian champion, and can recite by heart the starting lineup for Borussia Dortmund in the 1986 relegation match against Fortuna Köln. He is also the author of numerous soccer books, including one on the history of the Bundesliga. Above all, however, he is a fan of the glorious Arminia Bielefeld. Philipp is really looking forward to the new tour: “We’ll be talking about soccer the way it’s supposed to be: gritty, funny, and close to the audience.”

Stephan Reich is a longtime 11FREUNDE contributor, journalist, and author. As a die-hard fan of Eintracht Frankfurt, he has just published the collection of essays “Tage des Donners” (Days of Thunder); his debut novel, “Wenn’s brennt” (When It Burns), was already a huge success. Reich also appears regularly on the popular video podcast “Fußball 2000”—and is pretty much always there whenever anything related to Eintracht Frankfurt is happening. Stephan is looking forward to his debut season: “We want to turn things around and get into the tackles strong! I definitely have a good feeling about it!”
