Festival for Friends Aims for Greater Intimacy and Artistic Depth in 2026

This year, the “Festival for Friends” in Dahnsdorf is consciously taking a new direction: Instead of scale, the focus in 2026 will be on a more intimate and authentic festival experience.

The three-day art and culture festival has always seen itself as a place for encounters and artistic engagement. Guided by the principle of “constant transformation,” it questions both its own formats and societal developments. This year, this approach is being taken a step further: The program is being deliberately streamlined to enable more intense experiences and more direct encounters.

The reduced scale creates space for greater intimacy between the audience and artists, as well as for more experimental formats. Instead of a wide-ranging program, the festival focuses on a curated selection that prioritizes exchange and participation.

The program includes, among other things , theater, dance, music, exhibitions, and workshops. The presentations address social issues and invite audiences to use artistic perspectives as a starting point for dialogue and reflection.

The festival remains true to its mission:
It is an open space for shared experiences— created by friends, for friends, and with friends.
