FRIDAY, 07.06.:

6.30 pm Hanse SWING Project
It was jazz musicians of all styles who adapted songs such as "Blue Skies", "Summertime" or "Stormy Wheather" and numerous other classics from the American Songbook and took them from Broadway all over the world.
And it was the jazz quintet hanseSWINGproject that presented these titles - sometimes with a fast swing, sometimes as a ballad or as a Latin groove - in its specially designed concerts throughout northern Germany. This was also the case in enthusiastically received concerts at KASCH in 2006 ("Cole Porter") and 2016 ("George Gershwin"), back then with singer Kathrin Hinneburg.

21:30 Frollein Smilla
Alternative pop, somewhere between Cat Empire, Antilopengang and Sophie Hunger. Frollein Smilla is snotty punk, infectiously funky, honestly fragile and definitely danceable. Stylistically, instrumentally and linguistically, the band thrives on variety. A band between lightness and joie de vivre, political-poetic cynicism, dance and forgetting time. A project that touches, brings together and sweeps you away, consciously not caring about genre definitions, which is one of the characteristics of this group. Anyone who has enjoyed the captivating FROLLEIN SMILLA sound will recognize it again and again.

SATURDAY, 08.06.:

2 p.m. Birthday party of the district music school

16.30 hrs NIA Power Trio
NIA Power Trio
The three friends Antonia, Jannik and Jakob use their musical skills to create an energetic and expressive band sound that draws on folk, pop and rock genres and sprinkles a pinch of jazz attitude over the songs here and there at the end. The power here comes less from distorted guitars and breakneck beats, but rather from the unconditional will to the song itself. The whole setup searches for and finds the core of the song, the point at which everything comes together.

7 p.m. Marion & Sobo
Born out of an enthusiasm for travel and languages, the French-German-Polish ensemble creates its own modern style of vocal gypsy jazz, global music and chanson. This is not just a mere stringing together of cultural set pieces, but a perceived living reality: the musicians see themselves as citizens of Europe and the world. Marion & Sobo Band sings and plays with a lot of charm, humor, lightness and joy of playing for a cross-cultural and cross-generational audience.

10 pm Soulrender
Soulrender is a neo-soul band from the greater Bremen area. Awarded the German Rock & Pop Prize (Best Soul Band) four times, they also received the Förderpreis für Kultur. Motivated by the national recognition of their debut album, Soulrender fuse soul, funk, jazz, Latin, hip-hop and world music into a sophisticated and danceable melange on their new album.

SUNDAY, 09.06.:

11 am Children's theater Luzie & Oscar

1 p.m. Swing Lounge
"Swing Lounge" - the name of the band says it all. Swinging jazz, without excitement, for relaxed enjoyment of the immortal titles of the Golden Age of Jazz. The "Jazz Seniors" Boyke Dettmers (vib.), Karl-Heinz Viola (b.) and Wolf Grezesch (dr.) have all played in various formations for decades and have joined forces in the "Swing Lounge" because it is simply fun to present the titles of the American Songbook from Tin Pan Alley in a very special musical setting. For the JazzGarten in Achim, they have teamed up with Joachim Refardt (p.) and Volker Bruder (ts.), who bring the virtuosity they have acquired not least with the "Swinging Fireballs" to the Swing Lounge in a wonderful way.

3.30 pm Ingolf & Ella Burkhardt
The great career of Ella Burkhardt, a German-Swedish singer from Schleswig-Holstein, began with a bang in 2017 when she performed with Nils Landgren at JazzBaltica. Even as a schoolgirl, she amazed and delighted audiences, whether at Jugend Jazzt or when she was on stage with her father Ingolf Burkhardt, trumpeter with the NDR Big Band. Last year, the young singer received the IB.SH JazzAward. She performs her own compositions as well as jazz classics with a voice to dream to and perfectly accompanied by her father on the trumpet.
