20 Jahre Stoffekontor Jubiläum

In the organizer's words:

Hello dear sewing friends,

probably not all good business ideas are born in the bathtub. But this one does.

Anja remembers exactly how she thought at the time: "I have to make something of my own."

A pretty short sentence for what followed. Shortly afterwards, the first fabrics were lying in the attic - taken over by a Swedish couple who simply believed that she could do it.

That's how the best stories sometimes start: not with a five-year plan, but with courage, bolts of fabric and an idea that won't go away.

However, the fact that Anja would end up selling fabrics and pins after studying law was not necessarily what everyone had expected. Or, to put it in her own words: "As a parent, you get a bit of a shock at first."

Fortunately, she did it anyway. Because this bathtub idea became the Stoffkontor. And it is actually celebrating its 20th birthday this year.

The view to the future is just as clear as the memory of the beginning: even more encounters, even more inspiration, many events from 2026 and a pretty beautiful vision.

Europe's most beautiful fabric store? "Maybe it's too ambitious," says Anja and laughs. "But why not?"
