Guitarist, composer and sound artist Falk Zenker, who lives near Weimar and in the Fichtelgebirge, was recently named "one of the most creative nylon guitarists in the country" by the specialist magazine Akustik Gitarre. For three decades now, he has been delighting audiences and critics again and again with his virtuoso guitar playing, which ranges from medieval, classical and flamenco to modern world music, improvisation and live looped beats. Jazzpodium, for example, wrote about him: "He is a special kind of sound tinkerer and bridge builder, classically trained and blessed with the gift of always creating connections between spaces and times in a sensitive, stylish and very unique way that only he can do - endearing, cosmopolitan, typically Zenker and very, very beautiful." Zenker is currently playing and improvising music from his latest album Innenwege as well as his earlier solo albums Estampie, Falkenflug, Gedankenreise and Wellentanz. With sophisticated live looping, he occasionally multiplies his guitar playing into orchestral, pulsating soundscapes, which he is the first German acoustic guitarist to celebrate on stage since 1997.
