Repetitive, motoric, stoic, reduced - KRATZEN stand for an independent, uncompromising sound aesthetic. The Cologne-based band's sound is the result of deliberate limitation: no frills, no hierarchies, no lead guitars. Only the bare essentials are played - and it is precisely from this that an enormous energy develops.

With their latest album "III", released in January 2025 as hand-stamped, limited-edition vinyl, KRATZEN are consistently continuing on their path. Like its predecessor "zwei ", the record was produced by Olaf Opal (Notwist, International Music, among others). "III" moves within the band's familiar coordinate system, but opens it up to new dimensions: still Krautwave, but without getting stuck in a self-constructed pigeonhole. The music unfolds, minimalist structures shift subtly, small changes create big effects.

KRATZEN believe in the collective, in tension through reduction and in the power of the moment. Live, it becomes a hypnotic experience between stoic pulse and concentrated intensity - forceful, raw and focused to the max.
