During the 80s and 90s, Tribal Vibes were an integral part of the Würzburg music scene. The band was quiet for a long time, but now it's back. Ever since their celebrated performance at the Umsonst & Draußen Festival in summer 2025, it has been clear that this band has lost none of its power.

The ten-piece band Tribal Vibes is reviving old-school funk from four decades ago. They are less interested in the poppy Motown sounds than in the raw, energetic soul sound of Stax Music, Atlantic Records or Paisley Park. Hard beats, tight brass sections and the three-part backing vocals of the "Vibettes" condense into a danceable mixture of funk, R&B and soul that nobody can sit still to for long. Anyone who likes the music of James Brown, Wilson Pickett, Ray Charles or Prince will appreciate this band.
