Richard Strauss / Franz Hasenöhrl Till Eulenspiegel with a difference
Ludwig van Beethoven Septet op. 20
Beethoven's magnificent Septet was for a long time the composer's undisputedly most popular work. Here, he does not present himself as the titan he was stylized as in the 19th century, but as approachable, cheerful and filled with an irrepressible desire to make music. The arrangement of Richard Strauss' Till Eulenspiegel is a celebration of a completely different kind: a lively piece of musical humor.

Chamber music in its many forms occupies an important place in the orchestral life of the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra. Following the great popularity and positive response, we are once again venturing into the city in this season's tried and tested chamber music series and taking the audience to places where one would not expect to find classical music. The special thing remains: The orchestra musicians themselves put together the programs and perform pieces that are particularly close to their hearts in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. Of course, these include chamber music classics, but there are also many unknown and overlooked pieces to discover.
