Our own city of Kiel is at the center of the 4th Philharmonic Concert. The young composer Yixie Shen created the work "Sliced" for it. Bernd Franke's "BlueGreen" was premiered in Kiel on September 26, 2004.

Richard Wagner experienced not just fresh wind, but stormy gusts on the Baltic Sea: in July 1839, he fled from Riga, so to speak, and spent three weeks on a ship in breakneck waves. His overture to "The Flying Dutchman" represents the turbulent Baltic Sea.

Carl Orff's choral-symphonic masterpiece "Carmina Burana" will inaugurate the new concert hall in grand tones and great solemnity. Fate in all its colors will be portrayed in this one-hour and impressive
