YOUR FIRST POTTERY COURSE
Turning ceramics on the wheel - Level 1

Our 4-date course of 2.5 hours each on the wheel offers beginners the unique opportunity to learn how to make pottery on the wheel and gain practical experience.

After a short introduction, you will immediately sit down at the potter's wheel in this pottery course.
In level 1, you will learn how to center the clay and make a vessel.
You will also be taught how to "break up" the clay and "pull up" the walls. You will trim your first vessels and get to know engobes.

In the course with a maximum of five participants at the wheel, you will receive intensive supervision from two trainers to make four to six vessels such as mugs and bowls on the potter's wheel. It is also possible to add handles.
The course fee includes the cost of materials and the firing and glazing of the finished products with a transparent glaze. There are no additional costs.

4 x weekdays: 18.00 - 20.30 hrs

On the 1st and 2nd dates you will be familiarized with the wheel, learn how to centre, break open, form walls and turn vessels.
On the 3rd date you will turn the vessels. Trimming the vessels means that the vessel shape is refined and perfected.
In the 4th session, the vessels are decorated with engobe. Engobe is colored clay that is applied to the vessel in a leather-hard state with a brush.
After the first firing (= bisque firing), we glaze your creations with a transparent glaze for you.
