His entry into the music industry was difficult, but the Atlanta-born rapper and singer 6LACK (pronounced: Black) is now reaping the rewards of his arduous rise. With two albums, an EP and the singles released from each, the 30-year-old has so far collected 31 gold and 32 platinum awards worldwide. He has already been nominated for a Grammy three times and currently has around 17 million monthly listeners on Spotify. On March 24, he released his eagerly awaited third album "Since I Have A Lover", with which the US musician will now be touring the globe over the next twelve months. He will reach Europe at the beginning of next year, and 6LACK will also be stopping off in Germany for two shows in Cologne and Berlin between February 21 and 27, 2024. Ricardo Valdez Valentine, who was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1992, had his path mapped out at an early age: At the age of four, his voice was captured on tape for the first time - he sang the line "When I grow up, I wanna be somebody" in his father's own studio. Following his father's instructions, however, he first finished school before devoting himself entirely to music. By this time, he had already made a name for himself as one of the most talented battle rappers in Atlanta, where his family moved when he was five years old. It is said that he easily rapped against the wall against MC Young Thug, who was also unknown at the time.
