75 Jahre in Bewegung – großer Jubiläumstag für den Sport im Rheinisch-Bergischen Kreis

The Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis District Sports Association is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a major event and cordially invites all residents to join in celebrating this special occasion. On Saturday, July 4, 2026, the area surrounding the BELKAW Arena in Bergisch Gladbach will become a hub for sports, socializing, and community.
Under the motto “75 Years in Motion,” visitors can look forward to a diverse program for all generations. The anniversary reception for invited guests begins at 12:00 PM, while the grounds will open simultaneously for a large sports and family festival.
“For 75 years, the District Sports Association has stood for solidarity, commitment, and the advancement of sports in our region. Above all, this anniversary is an occasion to thank the many volunteers and clubs that support sports in the Rheinisch-Bergisch District,” emphasizes Chairman Uli Heimann.
The day will feature numerous hands-on activities, sports events, and information booths that impressively reflect the diversity of organized sports—ranging from traditional sports and exercise programs for children to topics such as inclusion, prevention, and social engagement in sports.
A special highlight is the big sports show from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., during which clubs and athletes from the district will showcase their talents.
The event concludes with an after-show party starting at 5:30 p.m. featuring live music. The Cologne-based cover band Kaschämm will perform as the musical highlight, ensuring a lively finale to the anniversary celebration.
“Our goal is to bring sports to life in all its diversity—for young and old, for active participants and those interested. The anniversary day is intended to show how strong and vibrant sports are in the Rheinisch-Bergisch district and how much they contribute to social cohesion,” explains Managing Director Henrik Beuning.
The anniversary is made possible by the support of strong partners from the region. The District Sports Association extends its sincere thanks to the sponsors and supporters—including the Krüger Group, BELKAW, Kreissparkasse Köln, AVEA, VR Bank eG Bergisch Gladbach-Leverkusen, and dm-drogerie markt—whose commitment is instrumental to the event’s success.
Refreshments will be provided, as will a pleasant event atmosphere that invites guests to linger and socialize.
