Following the successful premiere in May 2023 at E-WERK in Freiburg, the VAYA company, under the artistic direction of Tina Halford, is once again presenting the contemporary dance production A Pebble Falling on a Silent Lake. The piece poses the philosophical question of cause and effect: three dancers explore vertical space to a musical composition by Iskander Yerimbetov, testing physical boundaries and experimenting with gravity. The performers' bodies interweave in ever more complex ways, seeming to become one at times, creating cogwheel-like interweavings until they dissolve again. Similar to a kaleidoscope, the smallest movements constantly create new images. The dialog with gravity evokes a meditative effect.
