Spanning five decades, the film tells the often overlooked story of feminist resistance in Iran. Spanning five decades, the film follows women who fight back against control over their bodies and lives - activists, mothers, exiles and former prisoners talk about their struggle against control and oppression in private footage, secretly filmed images and haunting conversations. Personal experiences and political struggles intertwine and show how individual resistance gives rise to a movement that outlasts repression, violence and silence.
