In the organizer's words:
ABER ICH | DIE WELT | ICH SEHE | DICH* presents works by around 40 international artists from different generations that show wrinkles in the content of photographs: Details that reveal something about an image and uncover historical sediments in the process. The first chapter of the exhibition deciphers (grave) landscapes that are imbued with historical memories and shaped by personal experiences, myths and ideologies. The second chapter reveals both obvious and secret analogies between Marcel Duchamp's ready-mades and photographs. It examines how artists use optical devices and photographic appropriations to capture states of forms that serve as a matrix for the organization of ideas. The final part of the show focuses on protocols, image processing and the production of objects with a historical and poetic feel, or how artists examine and translate photographic or archaeological material and artifacts.
