Abschlusskonzert internationale Meisterklasse für Chordirigieren

As part of the International Master Class for Choral Conducting, the Rundfunkchor Berlin offers young conductors the opportunity to rehearse with the choir under the direction of honorary conductor and lecturer Simon Halsey and to become acquainted with everyday professional life. In the final concert, the young conductors will present selected works together with the choir - honorary conductor Simon Halsey will also be taking part.

t has been five years since the last International Master Class for Choral Conducting. It is therefore very special that the Rundfunkchor Berlin is offering this program again this season, which, along with the annual Schola for young choral conductors, is one of the Rundfunkchor Berlin's offerings for aspiring professional musicians. Under the aegis of Simon Halsey, the former principal conductor and current honorary conductor of the Rundfunkchor Berlin, a hand-picked group of young conductors will rehearse together with the singers of the Rundfunkchor Berlin during a one-week intensive course, exchanging ideas with them and thus gaining first-hand experience of everyday professional life in a large choir.
In addition, the master class also offers a very real opportunity to enter the professional world of music - in recent years, former graduates of the master class have repeatedly supported the Rundfunkchor Berlin in its choral rehearsals. In the final concert, the aspiring conductors will show what they can do - and, filmed and broadcast live on screen, will be the focus of attention.
