Achim Mohné_ Schattenbilder & Technoimagination

Noch niemand hat sich das Event gemerkt.

In the organizer's words:

Achim Mohnéis one of the leading figures in German media art. This solo exhibition focuses for the first time on the camera-less photographic work of this trained photographer and artist. It spans from early works from the 1990s to aesthetic image compositions derived from performances involving scanners. Many of the works—photocopies and photograms—are on view for the first time. They appear as photographic images and explore how electronic and digital information is transformed into two-dimensional visual imaginings. The term “technoimagination” was coined by the media philosopher Vilém Flusser (1920–1991), the intellectual inspiration behind several of the artist’s series.

A second focal point is the reinterpretation of the fairy tale “Little Red Riding Hood” (The Wolf of the Royal Forest and the Girl), which was generated by AI and collaged with film images. The result is an analog and a virtual installation designed for both indoor and outdoor spaces. Achim Mohné studied communication design and photography at the Folkwang University of the Arts, followed by graduate studies in audiovisual media at the KHM Cologne under Jürgen Klauke and Valie Export. Since 2021, Achim Mohné has been teaching photography in the Department of Design at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts, where he was appointed professor of documentary photography and transmedia publishing in 2023.
