It's nothing short of a miracle: three decades after Achim Reichel's mega-hit "Aloha Heja He" went gold in Germany, the sing-along classic became a viral hit in China of all places. At the end of 2021, the song became the first German-language number 1 hit in China and turned the Hamburg musician into a Chinese TikTok phenomenon. But no happiness is without a downside. The coronavirus pandemic also hit the likeable songwriter hard, forcing him to cancel the repeat of his highly acclaimed 2019 "farewell tour", among other things. In the meantime, "Aloha Heja He" became a mega hit and mutated into his most covered song. The song will soon break the billion mark on international streaming services - thirty years after its release!

The father of German rock music will celebrate his 80th birthday in January 2024 and can look back on a life's work that is unparalleled in its innovative versatility in this country. To mark the occasion, he is releasing a live double CD with his tour repertoire, which is characterized by brass instruments, as well as a single with his remake of the Hildegard Knef classic "Aber schön war es doch". To celebrate all of this in style, he and his band will then embark on a major "Schön war es doch" tour with fifteen dates across Germany in March 2024!

Achim Reichel will present a cross-section of his unique creativity on this tour. Whether as the "Godfather of shanty rock", through settings of German poet ballads, folk song innovations to a multitude of self-penned pop hits that earned him the attribute "Columbus of rock music" (SZ) - in 60 years of career Achim Reichel always knew how to surprise. In 2017, he resurrected his avant-garde project "Die Grüne Reise", which was released as A.R. & Machines in 1971 during the blissful Krautrock era.

So it's no surprise that he gave his autobiography, published in 2020, the title "Ich hab das Paradies gesehen" (I've seen paradise) and it immediately entered the bestseller lists. If you ask Achim Reichel when he plans to retire, there is only one answer from him: "I was born for music, there's no other way to explain why I still enjoy it . My fans know that, for which I feel great gratitude".
