Multimedia artist Adi Gelbart brings together post-punk and contemporary music and humorously explores an essential question: How can creativity be defined when computers themselves take the lead?
Together with the Ensemble KNM Berlin, Gelbart interprets poems by "Alpha" - a computer designed to write 'bad' poetry that deliberately sounds as if it had been thought up by a computer. In concert, the string quartet's emotive and multi-layered music builds a bridge between computerized artist and human audience. Gelbart's work has playfully anticipated current developments in the field of artificial intelligence. Today, it sees itself as a reaction to this - a kind of finger wagging in the direction of AI-generated art.
