Founded in 2017, the "Africa Film Festival" presents feature films, documentaries and short films on social change, upheavals and colonial reappraisal on the African continent. Current African films, music, dance, theater, live performances and panel discussions take up important discourses on current political and social issues. The creative workshops bring African culture to life. Every year, the festival presents an authentic and multifaceted image of Africa and contributes to the reduction of prejudices and cultural education. Our aim is to create an authentic image of Africa, using the art form of film as a social seismograph.
Current films from Africa, exciting topics and discussions contribute to cultural education and the reduction of prejudices. The festival presents the entire diversity of the African continent in film, music and literature. An African artists' market and traditional food provide a colorful backdrop for the films.
The Africa Film Festival shows almost all films in the original language with German or English subtitles.
