"Wir wollen nur spielen" is a comprehensive photo and text compendium celebrating the 13th anniversary of the Akademische Betriebskapelle (ABK). Edited by Dr. Ulrike Büttner (curator of the art collection of the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design) and designed by KD student Robert Wenzel, the 400-page volume shows the history, energy and artistic attitude of the band - from early escapades to great stage moments, from deep insights into the backstage area to personal views of individual band members.
The texts were written by Petra Olschowski, Jörg Scheller, Andreas Vogel, Alexei Savinov and professors from the Academy, among others.

In 13 years, ABK has played over 80 concerts in a wide variety of contexts. Their appearances combine performance, music and humor - and show how artistic practice comes to life outside of academic spaces. The book traces this development using visual material, archive finds and text contributions.
