Aktionstag im Museum Nikolaikirche

In the organizer's words:

Let’s head to “Sunday in the Nikolaiviertel”! Every first Sunday of the month, we offer a varied program. Free admission is available for everyone under 18 or eligible for a discount.

At this authentic historic site, rooms furnished true to the original show how the Berlin merchant family Knoblauch lived here some two hundred years ago. The exhibition“Berlin Life in the Biedermeier Era: Humboldt, Schinkel, and the Knoblauch Family” provides in-depth background on the house’s residents, their famous guests, and the era spanning from the end of the Napoleonic Wars in 1815 to the revolutionary events of 1848.

The special exhibition*Beziehungsweise Familie*offers surprising perspectives on the traditional family model in the past and present. In addition, a special presentation by our junior curators, titled “Ein Match haben!,” explores love, friendship, and partnership two hundred years ago in comparison to today.
