ETERNAL DAWN is a laboratory for bio-modification - for the improved and modified bodies of the future in an unsupervised evolution. The mission statement: No body is ever final, people are fluid, the extension of their bodies through appropriated parts is the interface to the world, and the human body is not a top-down entity, but the interplay of sovereign parts. The technological starting point opens up questions about humanity, control, agency, self-images and body images. ETERNAL DAWN is a large-scale, installative music theater project with which Hamburg-based composer and Decoder Ensemble co-founder Alexander Schubert continues his exploration of music, technology and transhumanism - ANIMA™ was last seen at Kampnagel in 2022. As a Kampnagel co-production, ETERNAL DAWN is now celebrating its German premiere in Hamburg following its world premiere at the Festival Musica in Strasbourg.
