Kenneth Hujer will be presenting his new book of interviews on this evening: "All this happened in this insane Frankfurt milieu". In it, he takes a look at the city from very different perspectives. He talks about Frankfurt as a cultural city in film, art, photography, novels and music, on the theater stage, as a political laboratory, on foot, in the underground and on the couch of psychoanalysis. The result is a polyphonic and detailed picture of the Main metropolis that captures both personal memories and collective experiences - with a special focus on the social and cultural upheavals of the 1960s to 1980s between student revolts, psychoanalysis and public abuse.

The interviewees range from the writer Eva Demski, the photographer Barbara Klemm and the pop critic Klaus Walter to the politician and journalist Daniel Cohn-Bendit, the Suhrkamp editor and publisher Karlheinz Braun and the conceptual artist Timm Ulrichs. They share memories, experiences, reports and anecdotes and reflect on Frankfurt's present and future.

Together with an author friend, Kenneth Hujer reads from selected interviews, shows material and film clips entrusted to him, talks about his encounters and plays some of the Frankfurt songs featured in the book.
