Old Town Festival Kamen 2026: Two days of live music on the old market square

Kamen - The big city festival in Kamen is taking a new direction in 2026 - and with a premiere: for the first time, the traditional event will take place over two days. On Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4, 2026, the Alter Markt will once again be transformed into a stage for top-class live music - as always under the open sky and with Free admission.
The festival continues to develop the familiar concept: in addition to nationally known acts, local greats will also refine the program and together provide varied entertainment in the summer. And for every taste, of course! From rock and punk to pop, rap and soul, a wide range of music is covered.

Friday, 03.07.2026
The kick-off belongs to local bands: The band from the music school "Straight Ahead" traditionally opens the concert on Friday at 17:00 with covers of famous rock hits, followed by "Captain Horst", who bring well-known indie and alternative sounds to the stage in Kamen. With "Marathonmann" from Munich, post-hardcore with emotional impact is on the program from 19:35, with which the band has already made it into the German charts many times. Singer "Cäthe" and her band will then bring a top-class pop-rock atmosphere to the Alter Markt before "KC & The Soul Brothers" bring the evening to a close with the greatest hits from past decades until midnight.

The second day of the festival, which is deliberately aimed at a younger target group, also starts with local artists: "Les D'Acchords" provide acoustic sounds, while "The Scabs" and "Goose Park" get the audience moving with punk rock and pop punk. With "Dein Couseng" from Essen and "VITA" from Leipzig, two exciting rap acts will take to the stage in the evening, rounding off the festival program in a modern and versatile way. VITA" in particular is a rapper who is causing a sensation not only in the scene, but also throughout Germany.
