What a coup for the Kultursommer festival: the new world music star Alune Wade invites you to a big dance night at Schlossplatz Oldenburg on Saturday evening to present his brand new album "New African Orleans", which combines West African rhythms with Afrobeat and brass music from New Orleans - simply cool & totally brilliant!

The composer, singer & super bassist sees himself as a musical world wanderer and combines West African Afrobeat with a variety of beguiling music on all his productions & tours: Arabic-Andalusian rhythms, US-American jazz, blues from Mali, cinematic elements, rap - and so much more.

At the age of 18, Alune Wade was already playing alongside Ismael Lo, a wonderful singer from Senegal. Over the course of his career, he has collaborated with: Salif Keita, Bobby McFerrin, Joe Zawinul, Oumou Sangaré or Gregory Porter. His collaboration with Marcus Miller for "Afrodeezia" (2015) stands out in particular. Wade's last album "Sultan" (2023) received worldwide praise. He played a sensational live show at the Hamburg Elbjazz Festival 2024 and celebrated the closing gala for the Bremen Jazzahead Festival 2024.
