Anatevka

Noch niemand hat sich das Event gemerkt.

In the organizer's words:

Things are hopping in the village of Anatevka. Tevye, the Jewish milkman, wants to marry off his daughters—in the truest sense of the word. But none of them is satisfied with the selection of suitors. Each wants to decide for herself whom she will marry. Two of them pay a high price for this. Alongside his headstrong daughters, Tevye introduces the audience to a cross-section of the village population: From the matchmaker to a supposedly money-grubbing beggar, the humorous rabbi, and the dependable police sergeant, the characters who shape everyday life in Anatevka are introduced. Everything goes on as usual until the villagers are forced to leave their homeland due to a new decree.

“If I Were a Rich Man” is the most famous song from the global hit “Anatevka.” Jewish folklore blends with Western-influenced musical styles. The emotional range spans from a humorous, cheerful atmosphere to tragic and sorrowful moments.

Today, the story of “Fiddler on the Roof” is considered one of the most compelling works in musical theater. Theater Lüneburg was able to secure director Jasper Brandis for this production; his version of “The Tin Drum” received the stage award from the Freundeskreis Theater Lüneburg e. V. during the 2024–25 season.
