In the organizer's words:
In early July, we’ll be guests at Lumino in Hanover with our “Tischlein Denk Dich” event. We combine a cozy dinner around a large table with discussions on current topics and thoughtfully designed game rules. The evening begins with a moderated discussion at a large table seating 20 people. Then it’s time to eat: a delicious dinner during which we’ll delve deeper into the topics. This time, the focus is on the question “We’ve arrived. Now what?” The event is taking place in cooperation with Lumino and will be hosted at Café Erhardt.
About the evening’s topic:
For young people with a history of immigration or displacement, the usual challenges of growing up can be even more intense. In addition to uncertainty about things like education, career aspirations, and personal development, there are questions regarding residency status, long-term prospects in Germany, and, of course, language. Young people often feel they are not sufficiently involved in the political and social decisions that directly affect these issues—and thus their own lives.
That is why, at this “Tischlein Denk Dich,” we want to bring together young people with a migration background and decision-makers—for example, from youth services and youth policy—for a shared dinner at one table. Under the guiding question“When does arrival become belonging?” we want to exchange ideas and discuss more opportunities for participation.
Price information:
As always, participation in the event, as well as food and drinks, is free of charge. However, we ask that you register in advance. The event is exclusively for young people with a migration background, as well as youth policy spokespersons and decision-makers in youth welfare (e.g., heads of youth welfare offices or department heads). Please indicate your affiliation or role when registering.
