Anika, alias Annika Henderson, is a hybrid artist. The former journalist made a name for herself in the electronic music scene with her experimental sound collages, confrontational lyrics and her unique way of performing live solo. Her breakthrough came in 2010 with the release of the cult LP Anika, an experimental work she recorded with Bristol band Beak> - a completely unplanned venture that marked the beginning of her ongoing exploration of the music, film, poetry and art scenes. One of her best-known songs remains "I Go To Sleep", a cover version of the 1965 Kinks classic.

The debut was followed by 2021's Change, an album full of intense frustration borne by cautious optimism, spread over nine tracks. 2025 now sees the release of their third album Abyss. Recorded live to tape at Berlin's legendary Hansa Studio, the album captures raw energy with minimal overdubs, resulting in a haunting, urgent journey across ten tracks, carried by intense emotion.

With Abyss, Anika invites her listeners into a space for liberation, rebellion and honesty - an album that becomes an expression of the unrest of our time while providing an emotional outlet. As she says: "This is a space for you."
