In the organizer's words:

Have you ever experienced something inexplicable? Something that goes beyond your imagination, beyond your idea of rational order?
Do you believe in miracles?

Over the past six months, the äöü collective has conducted intensive research into miracles. The research has taken them to marketplaces in Essen, to newspaper advertisements in Dortmund, to strange encounters with people, myths and works of art and to places in Germany, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Portugal where miracles are said to have happened.

In this performative research insight, they now unpack: they open the as yet unopened bags full of souvenirs, read from their travel diaries and research finds, listen to sound recordings they have collected and talk about the search for what cannot be physically found. In this improvised performance, a space is created in which the miracle can take shape.

The performance is the conclusion of several months of research into miracles and serves as preparation for äöü's next performative project, which will premiere on May 8, 2026 at the Theater im Depot Dortmund.
