Ansgarmusiken: „Resonanzen – eine Geschichte der Geige“
In the organizer's words:
The concert program spans three centuries of music for solo violin and showcases the violin as a polyphonic, narrative instrument.
Works by Biber, Bach, and Matteis embody Baroque formal rigor, dance, and spiritual depth, while Ysaÿe, Kurtág, and Englund explore the expressive and sonic expansions of the 20th century.
Between chaconne, passacaglia, lyrical moments, and musical miniatures, a tension arises between tradition and the present—reduced to a single voice.
The concert takes place in St. Ansgar Chapel next to St. Mary’s Cathedral.
Price information:
Tickets are available for €14 (reduced price: €10) at the Gerdes box office (plus advance booking fee, if applicable), at the “geist+reich” information desk at the cathedral, and at the Box Office on the night of the performance.
