Antifaschistische Filmreihe: "Kaiserhofstraße 12"
In the organizer's words:
Kaiserhofstraße 12 in Frankfurt a. M. is the home of the communist Russian-Jewish Senger family.
The parents had come to Frankfurt after the failed Russian uprising of 1905, where Valentin was born in 1918. The film depicts his childhood and youth and the growing difficulties under National Socialism.
The Sengers were not considered Jews by the authorities due to an exchanged registration card. However, the family had to watch as friends and relatives were picked up and sent to the extermination camps and often only escaped detection by a hair's breadth.
