Does Apollo embody the perfect man? It would seem so! The Greek god is supernaturally beautiful. Potent and powerful. An infallible archer. And head of the muses to boot. At the same time, his mythological bio also tells of desire beyond rigid gender images. And shows unexpected fractures. In APOLLON, the artists from waltraud900 are now investigating how ideals of masculinity are passed on, restaged and reproduced. Together with the musician Uğur Kepenek aka Busy Beast and an ensemble of eleven young men with male readings, a performative experimental arrangement between myth and the present is created - with different cultural perspectives. The young gods of today climb down from Olympus. Summon the Oracle of Delphi. Defeat the python. Dismantle male role models and reassemble them. Where are the sons of the future heading?
