Architektur Sommer: 40 Jahre Waterkant - Fotografien von Michael Zapf
In the organizer's words:
Hamburg presents itself as a colorful, multi-layered and small-scale city: characterized by life on the Elbe and in the harbor, sometimes metropolitan, sometimes very intimate - and always surprising. In his exhibition in the listed Fischerhaus in Blankenese, photojournalist Michael Zapf presents new, unusual perspectives on the city on the waterfront.
The works make the different landscapes and building forms along the Elbe river visible and at the same time capture how these spaces have changed over the past four decades.
Michael Zapf was born in Hamburg-Bergedorf in 1965. His first sports photos appeared in the Bergedorfer Zeitung newspaper while he was still at school. He later became a freelance photojournalist and photographed for Hamburg daily and weekly newspapers, photo agencies, companies, foundations and public clients. He has also realized numerous book projects relating to Hamburg. His photographs can be seen in exhibitions and can be found in both private and public contexts.
