Anastasia Kobekina: violoncello

Anastasia Kobekina has long since developed from a promising young star into one of the leading cellists of our time. No wonder, because her technical mastery and outstanding musical flair result in interpretations of great maturity and sincerity. She enjoys pushing the boundaries and testing the versatility of her instrument. At the center of her guest performance are the first three of Bach's six cello suites, which, with their rhythmic vitality and melodic complexity, are still among the most impressive solo works for this instrument. They are woven into a program that ranges from an adaptation of a hypnotic vocal composition by Hildegard von Bingen to a spirited composition by her father and a virtuoso arrangement of the famous "Fandango" from Boccherini's Guitar Quintet No. 4. An original musical kaleidoscope, for which Anastasia Kobekina takes us into worlds of sound full of depth and surprises in Schnitger's baptistery.
