The special attraction of the organ built by Arp Schnitger for Dedesdorf lies in the fact that almost all of the original Schnitger pipes have been preserved and the playing conditions of the time of origin have been restored. As a result, the compact, elegant-sounding instrument can be used to perform the repertoire of the time to excellent effect. Krzysztof Urbaniak won the 1st Arp Schnitger Organ Competition at the Musikfest Bremen in 2010. In addition to his international activities as a soloist and organ expert, he now teaches as a professor of artistic organ playing, improvisation and historical organ building at the University of Music in Lódz. In Dedesdorf, he will focus on Johann Sebastian Bach and flank him with works by Dieterich Buxtehude. It should become clear once again that the much-admired wealth of ideas and sound effects in Bach's oeuvre would not have been conceivable without the formative influence of Buxtehude. For the finale, the entire orchestral sound spectrum of the organ can be experienced with the Concerto in C major BWV 594, a transcription by Bach of Antonio Vivaldi's virtuoso Violin Concerto in D major "Grosso Mogul" RV 208.
