ARTBEY clears the stage for the performing arts. Four Cologne performance shows take us out of our everyday lives:

Billie Barleben is an actress, musician and performance artist. Her artistic work is her break with expectations. A Fuck You to elitist arrogance. Performative with sound, movement and jazz.

Raphael Di Canio and Dennis Frasek have been performing under the name einfachzwei/ ŁØØŁ or PERplex for almost 10 years now. Special features of their performances are the inclusion of the audience, the use of different media and irritating accents.

Laura Schönlau is a dancer, choreographer and artist. In her own works, she deals with physicality, femininity and spatial concepts or architectural constellations both physically and in terms of content.

Juli and Philip are dancing performers. They met in a studio and wanted to go straight out onto the street. "Hey Bravers!" is their invitation to be collectively brave. Does it take external judgment to be brave or can it be a superpower just for myself? July and Philip's joint dance debates deal with vulnerability management and empowerment - practices that we should be practicing.

It's worth staying longer: after the performances, ANNI YU takes over the stage.

The queer multi-instrumentalist and singer from Cologne fuses urban pop with electronica in looped beats.

Aromateeq 's DJ set will conclude the eveningwith sounds ranging from summery hip hop beats to Turkish 90's classics and danceable Afrobeats club sounds.

ARTBEY is a joint project by Cologne's creative artists around the BPC Network think tank . The program is co-designed by, among others: lulu.fm, Theodor Wonja Michael Library, ArtAsyl e.V., the Voices of Africaand the VHS Cologne.
