ARTe Kunstmesse Osnabrück 2026: Zeitgenössische Kunst und Klassische Moderne erneut im Herzen der Friedensstadt

In the ARTe art fair series, the event in Osnabrück is one of the younger members and will take place for the fourth time in 2026. With this edition, ARTe Kunstmesse Osnabrück is also part of the 10th anniversary of the ARTe art fairs - a decade in which the format has developed into an integral part of diverse art landscapes at six locations in Germany.

From 6 to 8 March 2026, over 70 selected galleries and artists from Germany and neighboring countries will present their positions in contemporary art and classical modernism on 1,500 square meters in the OsnabrückHalle.

Art fairs in the greater Osnabrück area have a long tradition. ARTe Kunstmessen thus ties in with the region's established art and collecting culture, including earlier exhibition formats such as the Antik & Kunstmesse in nearby Münster. "The fact that the ARTe art fair has now become a permanent fixture in the Osnabrück calendar is a development that was entirely predictable. Osnabrück has a lively cultural scene and an open and interested public. This art fair is just right here in the region," says the patron of the fair, Wolfgang Beckermann, Head of Cultural Affairs and First City Councillor of the City of Osnabrück.

Three days of encounters with fine art in all its facets await the public: from painting, drawing and graphics to photography, collages, sculptures and object art. Both established galleries with works of classical modernism and current positions in contemporary art by artists from the region, the whole of Germany and neighboring countries are represented.

As with all ARTe art fairs, the focus is on direct encounters between artists, gallery owners and visitors. The fair experience is complemented by free services such as a packing service for purchased works, cashless payment and barrier-free access.

Free guided tours with art historian Anette Ochsenwadel will also take place on several dates during the fair. In alternating tours, she will present selected positions and place them in their art-historical and contemporary context. Pre-registration is recommended and is possible via the ARTe Kunstmessen website.

On the vernissage evening, Friday, March 6, 2026, ARTe Kunstmesse Osnabrück invites visitors to free admission between 5:00 and 6:00 pm. After 18:00 and on the following days, normal admission prices apply.
