We cordially invite you to an artist talk with Maria Lassnig Prize winner Carrie Yamaoka (b. 1957). During the conversation, we will gain deep insights into the artist’s practice, whose works are on view in a solo exhibition in the atrium of the Galerie der Gegenwart. Her work is characterized by a multifaceted approach to material and temporality. By combining photography, text, and shifting, reflective surfaces, she creates surprising connections in which materiality, processes, and transformations play a central role.
