In Pankow, Prenzlauer Berg and Weißensee

More than 280 studios open their doors in Pankow on the first weekend in June

June begins at artspring with the Open Studio Weekend, the festive conclusion of the month-long art festival.
Over 280 artists from Pankow open the doors to their workplaces and offer close-up insights into these private places of inspiration and the artistic creation process. Numerous individual and group studios are spread across the districts of Pankow, Prenzlauer Berg and Weißensee in particular. While you can get an overview of many artists at once in the large studio buildings, individually distributed studios invite you to explore the neighborhood. The range of media used by the participating artists spans painting, graphics, photography, sculpture, installation, ceramics, multimedia, sculpture and design.

At a time when living space is in short supply, the situation is no better for studio spaces, the number of which continues to shrink with each passing year, putting Berlin's artistic community under pressure. Against this backdrop, the opportunity to visit a studio is particularly valuable, where you can experience the still existing but threatened diversity of these nuclei of creative development. In direct contact with the artists, visitors are encouraged to get to know the artistic work processes and discover works that sometimes remain hidden from the public.

The large group exhibitions of the artspring art festival such as "Ashkelon Pankow - 2884 km to Bat Galim" in the old Königstadtbrauerei on the 30th anniversary of the Askelon-Pankow town twinning, "Show your turn" in the PopUpStore in the Rathaus-Center Pankow and "Die komische Linie" in the Parkklinik-Weißensee will continue to welcome art enthusiasts at the beginning of June.
