Auf dem Kattegatleden
In the organizer's words:
In June 2015, the first national long-distance cycling route in this Scandinavian country—the 380-kilometer-long Kattegattleden—was inaugurated along Sweden’s west coast. This route—often offering ocean views—connects Helsingborg in the south with the metropolis of Gothenburg. On this cycling trip, riders pass the cliffs of the Kullen and Bjäre peninsulas, followed by the kilometers-long sandy beaches of Halland, which gradually give way to the archipelago.
Björn Langer, who has been traveling through Sweden for more than three decades and also lived there for several months as part of his studies, discovered the Kattegattleden with his family in the summer of 2025. In a slide presentation, he introduces the long-distance cycling route, which was named the most beautiful in Europe just three years after its establishment. A key focus is on nature, which he explored during the trip not only from the saddle but also on foot in the hiking boots he brought along. The presentation also includes a detour into the country’s interior. Along the way, he offers tips on how to get there and back, as well as for your stay in the area.
