Theater with brass band music for a wavering species

A fairy tale about political imbalances and sinking certainties: in search of a lost balance.

In Aufrecht in die Schräglage, the music theater collective mehrblick&ton tells a political fairy tale about the state of our present: while the water rises and the certainties sink, three performers carry out an essentiality analysis. They measure themselves, the audience, their own waste, the invisible emissions of their existence and tell the story of a drowning world. Standing upright in an inclined position, they balance between old certainties and dynamic imbalances, taking stock of the limits of their system and becoming increasingly uncaptured in the process.

Between marching music and melancholy, the CENTRALKAPELLE BERLIN sets the tone: with timpani and trumpets, it blows against the storm and looks out from lighthouses of vision and confidence.

"Aufrecht in die Schräglage" is supported by the Federal Cultural Foundation's Zero Fund, a program for climate-neutral production in the theater. The production is therefore consistently based on: Working according to the three-step "Avoid - Reduce - Compensate". Balancing not only the carbon footprint of the production, but also one's own climate and emotional balance, transferring transformation processes to individual and artistic movements. The set design also follows this principle: stage and costumes are created through recycling and upcycling, resulting in a resource-saving aesthetic of sustainability.
