Ausstellung "Baustelle Transformation. Zehn Strategien für Stadt und Land"

How can the socio-ecological transformation in urban and rural areas succeed? The project "Baustelle Transformation. Ten strategies for urban and rural areas" by the Association of German Architects BDA and the German Architecture Center DAZ presents ten strategies by architects and urbanists. They focus on existing buildings, our most valuable resource on the way to a climate-friendly future. In order to shape change together and create acceptance for the climate goals, they rely on discourse and trial and error, on experiments and temporary uses - and demand shared responsibility instead of mere participation. With spaces for the community, productive neighborhoods and contemporary living models, new perspectives are opening up. In this way, transformation becomes concrete and imaginable.

The exhibition opens up a space for discourse on ecological and social challenges. The "construction site" symbolizes the multitude of open tasks and processes in the built environment. The ten strategies show examples of ways in which individual "construction sites" can be addressed. In this way, the exhibition provides a vivid approach to socio-ecological transformation and invites visitors to recognize potential, explore future living and working environments and try out their own opportunities to help shape them.

The central image of the exhibition is a changeable "urban-rural landscape" - a shared space for movement, appropriation and exchange. The central design element is "the trestle", a symbol of improvisation, pragmatism and community. In the exhibition, a flexible landscape is created from many trestles, some of which visitors can change. The trestles carry the exhibition contributions and translate themes of city and country, private and public. They become kiosks, fountains or seating furniture - places to exchange ideas, take a break and view the publication together, which forms the starting point of the exhibition.
