In the exhibition, we combine different levels of meaning of heat with 5 positions. Because we encounter heat in so many different ways: for example, as a result of climate change, not only are heatwaves and forest fires occurring more frequently, but also floods and hurricanes. And when things get "hot" between two people, it can be due to sexual attraction or deep aversion. This is expressed linguistically when we call someone we find attractive "hot" or euphemistically refer to an argument as a "heated discussion". This contradiction in the human perception of heat becomes the unifying element in the exhibition at the art space erstererster in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg.
The "Heat" project is designed as a double exhibition: In the fall exhibition, the focus will be on the causes and manifestations of heat. In spring 2025, the focus will then be on dealing with heat and its consequences.
