As a teenager, AVAION had a dream: that of a golden record, to which he had already assigned a permanent place on the wall of his childhood bedroom in his imagination. Twelve years later, this wish has come true - with the platinum award for his million-streamed debut single "Pieces", with which the German multi-instrumentalist and songwriter celebrated his global breakthrough as one of the most exciting shooting stars of the international electronic music scene at the end of 2019. For the now 27-year-old, this was just the beginning of his journey, as it turned out! Pieces' precious metal record now includes gold in Germany, Hungary, Poland, Austria, Slovakia, platinum in Switzerland and double platinum in South Africa.
AVAION has borne his mysterious name since his early childhood days, when the then 4-year-old toddler began to create his own musical world: His grandfather and father were also musicians, encouraging the youngster to try out a wide variety of instruments from an early age: Keyboard lessons at 4, followed by piano at 5, church organ, singing in the children's and youth choir and playing the guitar. He later discovered electronic music - a formative moment for the then 13-year-old. "For as long as I can remember, I was particularly fascinated by electronic sounds," AVAION looks back. He quickly realized that he not only wanted to make music himself, but also to make his audience dance.
AVAION starts playing in local clubs in southern Germany. His setlist also includes his first self-composed tracks, which he posts on Soundcloud at the same time: An eclectic and experimental clash of drum 'n bass, dubstep, ambient and electronica, the influences of which can still be found in his distinctive signature sound today. AVAION refuses to be pinned down to a single genre, instead combining electronic beats with organic elements, melancholic harmonies and soulful vocals to create an instantly recognizable mix with which he has built up a worldwide fanbase in a short space of time.
"Pieces" was written during a depressive phase," says AVAION looking back on his big breakthrough hit. "I was really unhappy at the time and sat down at the computer every day after the late shift to build new tracks. I was desperately looking for a way out of this situation. "Pieces" is about the situation where you literally fall into a thousand pieces..." A piece that would change AVAION's life from the ground up: Versions of "Pieces" now collectively record well over a quarter of a billion streams on platforms. At its peak, AVAION inspires almost 5 million listeners and 135,000 followers on Spotify alone.
AVAION continued to create his very own sound universe, which was followed by further milestones such as "Sleepless" (in cooperation with Nu Aspect, Paul Wetz and Yuma) "Numb" (together with Goodboys), "Broken" "Hope" "Keep on Dancing" "I don't know why" "Love again", "Other Side" (with BUNT.) and many more.
AVAION's tracks go down just as well in a sweaty club as they do in front of 100,000 enthusiastic festival-goers. To date, AVAION's tracks have been streamed over 700 million times on the platforms.
With his songs, AVAION creates a unique mix of electronic, danceable beats and atmospheric, melancholic sounds. Music for dancing and dreaming, depending on your mood, as he himself describes his style. "Music has always been my most important outlet," says AVAION. "I can process things from my emotional cosmos that I can no longer get out of my head. I hope that my experiences will also encourage my fans not to feel alone with their own problems and to face them head on."
In addition to constantly releasing new music, AVAION also focuses on direct contact with his fans. In 2023, he was a much-acclaimed guest at many major festivals such as Sonne Mond & Sterne, Parookaville and Glücksgefühle, but also at trendy clubs such as Bootshaus in Cologne.
In 2024, AVAION will open two more chapters that are very important to him and will delight his fans. Firstly, he is releasing his first album "Selfreflection" with a whole series of new songs on it that represent further parts of his musical spectrum.
Secondly, he is going on tour with his very popular and extremely successful live set series "For the Vibes" to the major cities of Europe to get in touch with his fans.
